Let There be Light

I thought it be a nice idea to stitch a lamp shade to help customers think about alternative items to stitch. This is a demi-shade by Amanda Lawford on 13 count. I’m fairly pleased with how it turned out though looking at it now I think the butterflies wings should have been done using some sort of long and short stitch. I sent it off to Marlene’s for finishing. I especially love the coordinating twisted cord but not convinced about the pom-pom trim. I had envisioned glass beads or something that leans towards a dressy look and pom-poms just scream casual to me. I used a many different threads for this rummaging through my stash. Any opinions on the finishing would be appreciated.

I love this, but would personally prefer some long black crystals dangling.
