With Rosh HaShanah and Yom Kippur coming up soon I think it is due time to feature the work of Mordechai Rosenstein. His stained glass work and serigraphs can be found world wide and the Needlepoint industry in blessed to have his work available to stitch. Below are just a few of the standard pieces available and any of Mordechai’s work can be considered to be reproduced exclusively by Aviva, who is licensed to interpret his work. It just so happens that both are located within a few miles of my shop and it makes it all the more real to have met both of them. I think his work can be interpreted so well to canvas because of his broad and interesting shapes that he he uses to illustrate Hebrew calligraphy translate so naturally to stitches and texture. And color! Nothing is more intense or saturated than his palette. Please email me for further information or inquiries. Most pieces shown are available for immediate shipping.

The Hebrew alphabet is the essence of the art of Mordechai Rosenstein. “The flowing forms of the letters have been an inspiration to me since my youth.” Mordechai’s love of these forms is evident in every piece he creates. His vibrant shapes and colors enhance synagogue interiors, tapestries, paintings, murals, and silk screen prints. Gifts and awards of Mordechai’s works have been presented to President George Bush, President Yitzhak Shamir of Israel, authors Elie Weisel and Chaim Potok, the Pope and many others throughout the world.
