Seeing all there is to see makes me wish I could purge all my old stuff and buy up everything that strikes my fancy. There is always a lot to cover in walking a show and though several designers didn’t exhibit I still didn’t get to visit all that I planned. Of course having a fever and feeling not so great slowed me down a bit! I think of shows as a time for intense information gathering of checking out the lines I know but also learning about designers I’m less familiar with. Below are some things that were either new, like Raymond Crawford adding judaic to his line, or atleast new to me.
Colors of Praise
Hip belts, meant to sit on your hips. Really interesting and versatile in patterns so you can wear them with all sorts of colors. These belts are for those who thought all needlepoint belts were “preppy”. Colors of Praise has a nice variety of pieces with their landscapes and scenes being quite striking. www.colorsofpraiseart.com/
Barbara Bergsten
While on the subject of belts Barbara Bergsten has many several summery belts on 14 count so you can stitch them up quick and are perfect for finishing into a pair of upscale flip flops by Eliza B. www.barbarabergstendesigns.com
Raymond Crawford new Judaic Needlepoint
Menorah candles shown here are 3 of the available 8. each is 2 x 4 1/4″ on 18
Dove measures 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 on 18, perfect for hanging on a cord, using as a box top or as a pillow insert. I like the fresh use of color; a pleasant break from the more typical jewel tones. www.raymondcrawford.com/
