next up Wright Friends, 2 day class, Friday Sept 30th and Saturday Oct 1.
On June 25/26 Tony came to teach Patchouli, a piece I’ve admired for a long time and yes we did it! There were 11 attending, some long time veterans of Tony’s and a few new ones too.
Patchouli by Tony Minieri in the Brights palette
If your serious about stitching and technique I don’t know of a better instructor. Tony really is amazing and that’s why he has a following. But he’s a great instructor for those who can keep an open mind and are willing to forget what they think they know and learn from a master stitcher, as well as from each other.
Patchouli is roughly 8″ square on 18 count and four color schemes are offered. By and far Blue Bonnet was the dominant winner, oddly enough Tony said no one has ever selected it ~ must be us Jersey girls. The color on the pieces below taken during class aren’t very good representation of the colors, a real disappointment that they don’t look half a pretty as they do in real life.
Blue Bonnet scheme on pale blue canvas
Fiery scheme on lavendula canvas
Soft Tints on Sandstone canvas
I’m really anxious to see if anyone completes theirs and can share pictures. I’m grateful to those that signed up for the class and put in 2 solid fast paced days of stitching.
Next up is Wright Friends which has been very popular. In this piece everyone gets to stitch the different palettes as all four make up the overall piece. Threads include Needlepoint Inc silk, Kreiniks, Rainbow Gallery, beads and Swarovski crystals. To be held on Sept 30th and Oct 1st. To sign up click here
